Having spent time with both companies Tom identified the advantages in bringing each organisation together and was uniquely positioned in 2000 to ensure an effective merger and formation of the Stonehouse group. Tom continues to work in progressing the group's turnover and operations to ensure a valuable market presence. The formation of Aontas is an example of just that. Through combining Superquinn's buying power with that of the wholesale group, a solid and positive future for both is guaranteed for the long-term. Tom holds a BAgr Sc degree from UCD and is the first Chartered Director of the Institute of Directors in Ireland.Janice Gibney began her career in the FMCG industry in 1998 with Johnson Brothers Ltd., working with both Ngage and Jaymark as Assistant Business Manager on a number of market leading brands including Pampers, Olay, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Vicks, Bendicks, Werther’s, Mentos and Fox’s Confectionery. Janice joined the Stonehouse team as Promotions Manager in 2006, coordinating all retail brand promotion activity as well as managing a number of branded suppliers. In June 2007 Janice was promoted into the role of Group Retail Coordinator working as facilitator / negotiator of all aspects of retail branded products through the Stonehouse Central Office as well as taking on full responsibility for the management of the Homestead Brand. Janice holds an Honours Batchelor of Business Studies. Brian commenced his career in the family wholesale business in 1979 and, following a brief spell with Franklins supermarkets in Sydney, assumed control of all aspects of the purchasing function in Elliotts in 1985. During his time in Elliotts, Brian was an active member of Stonehouse Marketing committees such as Wines & Spirits and Foodservice. In August 2006, Brian departed Elliotts and the industry generally, only to return as Foodservice and Alcohol Coordinator for the Stonehouse group in November 2007. The role is that of a facilitator, negotiator, and ultimately, a protector of the interests of the members of the Stonehouse Group in the Foodservice and Alcohol sector. Brian has considerable experience in this sector, experience he shares on a daily basis with the members in order to ensure growth in a category yet to reach its full potential. Brian has an IMI diploma in Grocery Management.
